On the morning of 3 March, when Ajay Devgn was headed to his film’s shoot in the Goregaon Film City in Mumbai, a supporter of the farmers’ protests gathered with a group and blocked his way, and yelled at the actor. In his anger, the man demanded the actor to speak about the farmers’ protests. He asked the actor why he was silent despite hailing from Punjab. The protestor, Kuldeep Singh, had reportedly kept the actor’s way blocked for about 15 minutes, after which, the cops arrived on the scene and arrested him.
According to reports, Kuldeep Singh is a member of the NCP. His fellow supporters, who were present at the scene, told the police that he only wanted to know why Ajay Devgn had kept quiet about the farmers’ rights. Anwar Sheikh, another member of the NCP, told the media, “We only wanted to ask Ajay Devgn why he is not even tweeting about the protests or making his stand clear about the issue in any way.”
