On August 29, Bollywood actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli was arrested in a drug-related case. Armaan’s arrest was followed by a drug peddler, Ajay Raju Singh’s arrest, was also taken into custody under sections 21(a), 27(a), 28, 29, 30, & 35 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act on Saturday. For those who don’t know, Armaan’s name popped up after Ajay Raju Singh revealed that he sold drugs to the actor. On the given information, NCB conducted a raid at his residence and seized 25 grams of cocaine.
Earlier an NCB officer had told mid-day, “Singh is associated with the international drug syndicate and prostitution racket. His international links have come to the fore. NCB needs his custody to investigate the matter. Singh has been peddling drugs for the last two decades. We are checking how many properties he has. He owns two bungalows and lives in Juhu.”
While Mumbai zonal director of NCB, Sameer Wankhede had told to the same portal, “We have found an international link from Singh’s WhatsApp chats and it is being investigated. The court has given us Singh and Kohli’s custody till September 1.”
Well, soon after the actor had taken into the custody, he had filed a bail plea which was rejected by the court. Now in the latest turn of events, Mumbai Court sent Armaan to 14-day judicial custody. Tweeting about the same ANI wrote, “A Mumbai court remands actor Armaan Kohli to 14-day judicial custody. He was arrested following the seizure of drugs from his residence in Mumbai.
