Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain Actress Saumya Tandon Got Rejected For Being ‘Too Fair’!

Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain actress Saumya Tandon who essays the role of Anita Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the show revealed that she lost out on a lot of work abroad for being ‘too fair’. Sharing the experience with a media portal, the gorgeous actress said that she gave a lot of auditions abroad but she was told that she is not ‘brown’ enough.
“I lost out on a lot of work because they said ‘she is too fair’ because they perceive an Indian girl to not be that, she should be ‘brown’. A lot of auditions I give abroad, they say ‘oh you are fair, Indian girls are not supposed to be that’. I said it’s so stereotypical. The world outside perceives the Indian girl to be brown”, said the 35-year old actress.
Saumya told the casting directors that in her country people of all complexions stay. She even said that she lost on an international film because of her skin tone and some other girl who was not fair got the opportunity. The actress then questions the stereotypical thinking of people as she says that girls from Kashmir, Punjab are fair, then do we not call them Indian?
Talking about Saumya’s current show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain her character is been described as ‘gori’ mem which means fair lady. Well, she said that when people call her gori or fair she does not find it as abuse as that is how God has made her.
