Kriti Kharbanda is a multilingual actress & model. The actress has made numerous fans with her fresh, gorgeous looks and equally beautiful acting. In over a decade, the actress has worked in about 30 movies, showcasing her talents better than the previous one.
Kriti, fondly called Kittu by her folks, was everyone’s doting child and was very cute and innocent as a kid. When she shifted to Bengaluru, she used to visit her relatives in Delhi often.
Kriti Kharbanda used to visit her grandparents living in Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, during holidays. Her Diwali celebrations at their place involved Kriti running around excitedly lighting lamps, doing decorations and gorging on sweets. They used to have a bonfire in their garden where they played card games. Whenever she sat next to her mother in those games, she revealed her mother’s cards and spoiled her game. She has still kept the tradition of playing card games on Diwali with her friends and family alive.
Kriti Kharbanda was a very active student in cultural activities during her school and college. She has been juggling commercials and modelling campaigns along with her studies. She fell in love with TV commercials. In her college days, she featured in advertisements of some prominent brands, including Bhima Jewellers, Spar and Fair & Lovely and featured in their billboards.
She was featured on the spar billboard, which paved her way to an acting career in movies. That billboard caught the attention of Raj Pippalla, and she was seen in Boni. Initially, she had no intentions of becoming an actress and was unsure about the offer. Her mother’s encouragement made her sign the film. Though the movie didn’t do well, it fetched positive reviews for her. Up until Googly, this was the case for all her projects.
Kriti Kharbanda used to help her mother in her boutique in the initial days of her career. Since her first few movies didn’t do that well in the theatres, she didn’t consider herself a star. So once after Chiru, she visited a mall with her mother when someone came and asked for a selfie. Her mother felt proud when more people came for her autograph and selfies. But they ended up getting mobbed by about fifty-something people, and Kriti couldn’t process the incident. It was after Googly that she felt at ease with the public attention.
From her first film till now, Kriti has always managed to get positive reviews for her work irrespective of the movie’s performance. As an actor, Kriti has made sure that she justifies each role she plays and refine her skills in the process. She makes sure she gets into the skin of her character to make it believable for her audience.
She puts in her best efforts in the projects. While working in Kannada films, she asked people to talk to her in Kannada to learn the language. For Prem Adda, she changed her appearance by getting tanned and walking barefoot for her character to get a raw look. She took pole dance lessons to get fit for Housefull 4.
When the movies fail to perform well, she feels sad. But as an actor, she feels happy that her performance is appreciated. Before, she had to pay certain bills, due to which she worked in a few for money. Now, she chooses her films cautiously. She likes to do films where she can make an impact with even a ten-minute role instead of doing a two-hour movie with no screen space for her.
She was typecast as an actress who did commercial films only. To break that perception, she insisted on working in Taish that showed everyone her ability to perform a wide range of characters, and she got other projects.
She doesn't want to limit herself to acting. She has a passion for jewellery designing and wishes to make a career in this field too.
In Bigg Boss Season 11, Hina Khan once said that south industries prefer bulging actresses. Kriti took offence to this so much that she went on to say she wanted to slap her. She completely discarded such notions. She said if any south actresses are sporting a bulging look, it is either by choice or for the role. Otherwise, you can look at other south actresses and me. We’re not chubby.
Kriti was at the Kempegowda International Airport when a check-in officer behaved rudely with her. He rudely asked her to pay for extra baggage. When she asked why, as two days ago, she didn’t pay any extra charges for the same flight, to all her questions and demands, the check-in officer behaved rudely & unprofessionally.
She didn’t like it and wanted to take it to the duty officer. He, too, didn’t help much along with supervising and other officers. She took the check-in officer’s picture and ID for a formal complaint. She also narrated the entire incident in her open letter to Air India.
Kriti Kharbanda is an actress who has a lot of potential. The actress is making a mark in the industry with her roles and performances in her films. As Sify wrote, she has looks, glamour, talent and a lot of future if she plays her cards right.
