When we learned that a new Batman film was coming out, we all went insane in excitement. In this regard, Gal Gadot has stated her enthusiasm for Zoe Kravitz’s portrayal of Catwoman in the highly anticipated The Batman. Model-turned-Hollywood star has played Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in five DCEU films, including her role in the current Zack Snyder cut of Justice League. Gadot’s Wonder Woman flicks have been acclaimed as powerful female-led superhero pictures, a far cry from early 2000s flops like Halle Berry’s Catwoman.

Zo Kravitz is the new actress to take on Selina Kyle’s feline persona. In Matt Reeves’ upcoming DC remake, The Batman, the Rough Night actor will play the anti-heroine cat burglar opposite Robert Pattinson’s new Bruce Wayne. Kravitz joins the likes of Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Anne Hathaway as renowned past Cat Women. The new Selina Kyle appears to be a more low-tech, back-to-basics cat burglar who will once again be involved in a romantic feud with the caped crusader.

Gadot hinted that she’d be open to fellow “comrades” like Catwoman joining Wonder Woman in a female team-up film, adding to her acceptance of Kravitz as a DC hero. If Hamada, the current President of DC Films, approves the project, he will have a plethora of female heroes and villains to pick from, with the DC Universe roster boasting a slew of successful films under their belts.

Fans of DC have reacted enthusiastically to the recent The Batman trailer, including Gadot, and Kravitz’s Catwoman is one of the most appealing aspects of the impending film. If the film is as successful as it appears to be, there is plenty of room for spin-offs centred on the renowned feline. Gadot’s remarks just fuel the conjecture, maybe paving the way for a future female team-up, if not a showdown. It remains to be seen whether Wonder Woman will be able to battle toe-to-toe with Catwoman in the future. On March 4, 2022, The Batman will be released in theatres.
