Here’s how Udoy and Rimli’s wedding was just as unexpected and as similar as to Apu and Dipu’s

Rimli‘s Udoy recently tied the knot to Rimli in her village, Muradidanga. Although totally unplanned, their marriage has surely united two very compatible people. However, the circumstances of Udoy and Rimli’s wedding reminded us of how Apu and Dipu from Aparajita Apu got married, not too long ago. In fact, in many ways, Udoy and Rimli’s marriage was very similar to that of Apu and Dipu.

1. Supposed to marry others

Both Rimli and Dipu were previously set to marry different people but ended up tying the knot with Udoy and Apu, respectively. In Rimli’s case, it was a very old villager, who was almost double her age with disgusting intentions and no morals whatsoever, obviously. Udoy was set to get engaged to Srija as well.

On the other hand, Dipu was initially going to tie the knot with Monalisa Dutta. She had an affair with another man that she planned on continuing with, even after marrying Dipu. Thank god Apu overheard these plans of Monalisa just in time!

2. Compatible partners

It is clear that Udoy is a very progressive, respectful and caring person, just like Rimli. Their understanding and outlook on life proved to be very alike, through all of their interactions. The old village man, for Rimli, or even Srija, for Udoy, would not have been their ideal life partners at all.

Similarly, it was evident how compatible Apu and Dipu always were and how incompatible the latter was with Monalisa. Apu and Dipu’s mutual respect, kindness, caring nature and a lot more, ensured their exceptional compatibility long before they got hitched!

3. Prevention of ‘logno broshto’

In both cases, the change of partners instead of simply cancelling the weddings took place based on the same criteria – preventing Rimli and Dipu from being logno broshto. While Udoy volunteered to marry Rimli to prevent her from becoming so, Apu did the same for Dipu after Monalisa eloped.

4. Unsupportive families

Another observation was how Udoy’s family opposed his wedding with Rimli, similar to what happened in Apu and Dipu’s case.

Apu and Dipu faced it with both of their families as well. Neither Udoy nor Dipu’s family accepted their respective brides, which led to a lot of arguments and disagreements.
