With their typical formulaic approach, the biographical film genre can be monotonous at times. However, certain films overcome these limitations and manage to rule our hearts with their special approach towards essaying the real lives of extraordinary people on-screen. And ZEE5’s upcoming original Jeet Ki Zid seems to be on similar lines as of the gritty-yet-real sequences we have seen so far in promos and trailers.
Featuring Amit Sadh as Kargil hero Major Deependra Singh Sengar, the series is an inspiring tale of a soldier who’s lionhearted and how his ‘never give up’ attitude helps him tackle tough challenges and turn the impossible into possible. Being a war drama, there’s a lot of action and thrill we can expect from Jeet Ki Zid.
And adding on more to your curiosity here’s taking a look at the real-life story of Major Deependra Singh whose inspiring life story formed the crux of this upcoming series.
Graduating from the National Defence Academy in 1990 at the age of 20, Deependra Sengar, a young lad had a single goal that was to be at the frontline in the Indian Army. And it did start-off well, however, Sengar’s dream of leading a successful career in the army shattered as he was severely injured during the Kargil war and was bedridden for a long time.
All this while he was informed that he is under the recovery stage and will be back on the field within a short time. However, after a month the doctor finally made him aware of his serious condition which meant- he could never walk again.
Battling various thoughts within his mind, Sengar was under the dilemma of how to proceed his life ahead. On an ex-officers advice, Sengar decided to switch his career and pursued a management course that helped him utilize the organizational skills he had learned from the army. Clearing CAT in 2000, the ex-army major is now a top management professional with Microsoft, in Singapore.
The Amit Sadh starrer Jeet Ki Zid will give you a detailed insight into the inspiring life story of Major Deependra Singh Sengar. Directed by Vishal Managalorkar, the film also stars Amrita Puri and Sushant Singh.
