Mum Bhai Garners Rave Reviews; Angad-Sikandar’s ‘Brilliant And Shining’ Avatars Make It ‘Must-Watch’

The latest ZEE5 Original action drama, Mum Bhai, starring Angad Bedi, Sandeepa Dhar, Sikandar Kher, and Sunny Hinduja in lead roles takes viewers into a deep ride, giving a glimpse into the time when the underworld dominated the city of Mumbai in the 1980s. Bhaskar, a quirky yet dedicated cop, decides to clean up the dirt by crushing down the murky businesses of gangs prevailing in the city. For this, he locks horns with his friend and gangster, Rama, and gets puzzled in his own mission. Mum Bhai received rave reviews from not only fans but also the critics, hence making it an absolute must-watch on ZEE5.

“The twists and turns make the series engaging,” mentioned the portal. The story is well-paced and never seems too stretched or forced. Acting-wise, while Angad Bedi is a delight as a fearless yet arrogant police officer, Sikandar is really shining. The daily mentioned that Bedi nails the part perfectly.

“Strong performances and taut screenplay, Apoorva Lakhia keeps the pace gripping,” wrote the portal. They called it a must-watch for all who loves stories of crime, mafia and the underworld. While Angad looks fit and fierce in his part, Sikander, as the fierce mafia don Rama Bhai, doles out another brilliant performance.

3. TellyChakkar: 3.5 Stars

“The screenplay is very engaging and fast paced,” wrote the entertainment portal. While Angad Bedi nails it with a brilliant performance and does justice to the role of Inspector Bhaskar Shetty, Sikandar as a goon named Rama has also delivered a superb performance. The portal gave a special mention to the accent the duo has carried throughout the show.

The news portal mentioned that this 12-episodic series is engaging and also added that the best part is the way that the director has incorporated the voice-over by Sharad Khedkar to make the narrative consistent and “Angad steals the show as Bhaskar with his perfect expressions.” Talking about Sikander’s character, the portal mentioned that he has two sides- a terrifying gangster, who doesn’t think before shooting anybody, and another one is Bhaskar’s Rama Anna, who always supports Bhasker and makes him street-smart and that he is outstanding in playing both the parts.

“The fun rap is a perfect mix of Marathi Lingo and groovy beat. Angad puts up a wonderful show. His expressions are priceless, especially when he learns that he has been inducted into the ATS,” wrote the portal. While Bedi showcases a very smooth transition of emotions, Sikander is simply outstanding as a gangster.
