Nyay The Justice, Rumouredly Based on Sushant Singh Rajput’s Life, To Go For Theatrical Release

Delhi HC denied stay on the film Nyay: The Justice. Reports claim that once the theatres upon up, Nyay: The Justice will be released theatrically as well.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case was one of the most controversial cases of 2020. As per reports, NCB is still investigating the case but no confirmation has come forward yet. Amid the ongoing case, a film was made, reportedly on his life, titled Nyay: The Justice. Earlier, the film was released on an app, however, it was shelved later. As per reports, SSR’s father had urged a high court to ban the film citing he doesn’t want anyone to make a film on his son.

However, the film received a tremendous response from the audience in the light of which, Delhi HC denied stay on the film. Reports claim that once the theatres upon up, Nyay: The Justice will be released theatrically as well. The story of the film allegedly revolves around Sushant Singh Rajput’s life and the struggles he faced.

Nyay: The Justice is directed by Dilip Gulati and produced by Sarla A Saraogi and Rahul Sharma. Featuring Zuber K. Khan and Shreya Shukla in the leading roles, the film was initially released on 11 June 2021.

Sharing the trailer of the film on social media, Zuber wrote, “Sometimes when we do not have the courage to change, everything changes around us to direct us a new path!! So many questions asked, so many left unanswered! Will justice prevail?” (sic)

While talking to Indian Express, Zuber reportedly said that he faced a lot of backlash for doing the film but he was Sushant’s fan. He also said that this film was his way of paying tribute to the late actor.  He added that there was no ‘personal agenda for him’ and that he ‘manifested’ the film towards him. As per the daily, he said, “I was really disturbed all this while and now that the film has received a green light, I can’t wait for people to watch the film… I have not even tried to copy him but used my acting to pay my tribute to him”
