Radhamma Kuthuru: Akshara, Bujjamma and other characters who are breaking several stereotypes

The popular TV show Radhamma Kuthuru starring Deepthi Manne as Akshara and Gokul as Aravind, is full of characters that change our standard notions about life and bring in their rules. They do not conform to the stereotypes that people set. The following characters have proven to be enough inspirational in the past.

1) Bujjamma

Bujjamma is a strong woman, and she does not hold back from expressing her opinions. She belongs to a generation where women were expected to suppress their voices and do what was told to them. However, Bujjamma always spoke her mind and never thought of herself as lesser than anyone.

2) Akshara

Akshara is more like Bujjamma when it comes to her personality, but apart from speaking her mind, she also has ambitions. She wants to serve the public as an IAS officer, which is very rare for women in her neighbourhood. She also doesn’t think of her marriage as an obstacle to her career.

3) Aravind

Aravind is secure enough to let Akshara be in the spotlight. He stands behind her like a rock and encourages her in all walks of life. He is her biggest fan and always lets her know that. He is glad that they have differences of opinions and that Akshara doesn’t end up agreeing to everything he says. He also brings out the best in her.

4) Radhamma 

When Radhamma’s husband left her, she did not give up on herself. She managed to run a successful mess while raising three daughters. She made sure that she gave them the best of everything. We can only imagine how difficult it must have been for her to do all of that all by herself.

5) Purandari 

There are several stereotypes around the notion that a woman cannot get along with her sister-in-law. However, Purandari is Akshara’s best friend and was warm to her when everyone else in the house wasn’t so good to her. Purandari has helped Akshara at every step of the way proving that women love uplifting other women.
