Allegedly, Alia Bhatt has also been chosen as the female protagonist. Reportedly, the lead character needs a certain madness, a passion that only Ranveer can project to play the role.

Reportedly, Alia said that Bhansali thought she was the most suitable for her role. When she read the script, she was very excited and wanted to do the film right away. Alia also said that it was the best script she had read.
