The makers leave it to your judgement about who is right and who is wrong. There is no redemption given to any character just for the sake of empathy, which makes it easy for the viewers to watch it objectively and form their own opinions. In the initial stages of the story, it is established that Akhtar’s family is never involved in hatred towards any community and have made good lives for themselves but Akhtar is the estranged one and the whole family has given up on him.
