When Amitabh Bachchan And Deepika Padukone Were Throwing Accusations On Each Other

When Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone get together, it is always amazing. We have had just one film, namely Piku, wherein the two played father and daughter. In the film, they kept bickering and accusing each other and we all laughed.

Funnily so, so many years post Piku, the actors still seem to have the same chemistry. Deepika Padukone along with Farah Khan were the celebrity participants on Kaun Banega Crorepati, the game-show has a weekly special which the audience eagerly awaits. It is a pleasure to see Mr. Bachchan take on the celebrities and get them to blurt out cute anecdotes about their life and the work they do together.

Speaking about Deepika’s quirks, Mr. Bachchan was quick to point that she is perpetually eating something or the other, and has never even offered to share her food. In his signature style baritone and impeccable Hindi, Mr. Bachchan said, “Harr teen minute pe inka aadmi aata hai, donge mein… and yeh bas khaana shuru kareti thi. Kabhi itna nai hua ki Amit ji aap kuch lenge? Bilkul nai!” Roughly translated, Mr. Bachchan was accusing Deepika of eating every three minutes but never sharing her tiffin.

If you thought, Deepika would have quietly accepted the blame, you are wrong. Just like her character in Piku, Deepika gave back as good as she got. She instead turned around and told Mr. Bachchan, “Yeh bilkul sacch nahi hai! Main abhi kehne waali thi ki main hamesha mera khana…jab bhi main dabba kholti thi, toh Amit ji aake ‘Kya kha rahe ho’, ‘kya kha rahe ho’, ‘kya kha rahe ho’ aur pura mera dabba finish karte the!” According to the actress, she never got a chance to offer because the moment the tiffin would open, Amit ji would be asking her what’s in it and finishing her whole meal.

While we don’t know who got it right and who got it wrong, we just cannot wait for these shandaar actors to come together for a full-fledged film.
