Zee announces its next original film, Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai, Filled with humor, romance, and social message

Zee5 has a jam-packed schedule, with back-to-back announcements and premieres of the most anticipated films in various Indian languages. The film ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?’ becomes one of the most recent announcements,’ which is basically based on a true story that revolves around the phrase ‘Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai’ that was printed on a currency note and had gone viral.

The film is directed by Saurabh Tyagi, presented by Pen Studios, produced by Dhaval Gada and Aksshay Gada. The film is the Bollywood debut of TV’s most elegant lady Surbhi Jyoti, best known for her serial “Naagin 3,” and “Qubool Hai” opposite the Punjabi Gabru and Jassi gill.

The trailer for the romantic comedy film ‘Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai?’ has received a rousing reception from the audience. In the three-minute-long trailer, Sonam Gupta is introduced as the “prettiest girl” in Bareilly, who has many men falling for her. Next, we meet Sintoo, a lovable character who falls in love with a Sonam who is out of his league.

The story takes a turn when Sonam reciprocates her feelings, leaving Sintoo confused. What follows is a comedy of errors in which a line written on a note becomes viral and sets off a sequence of events. This is a story waiting to be told in every corner of India,” said Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, Zee5 India. “Picking up these stories and presenting these light-hearted dramas to a majority audience makes us feel joyous.”

The movie is based on a true story, but it takes up where it left off and concludes the narrative. This film is romantic, hilarious, and smart, as well as having a message. It gives a wholesome feel and we’re looking forward to the release. Brijendra Kala, Vijay Raaz, and Atul Srivastava also star in the film. Director Saurabh Tyagi expressed his delight saying, “I’m quite satisfied with how the trailer has turned out.” The film is set to premiere on the OTT platform ZEE5 On September 10.
