Mathur tells Ramchandra that he had to take a hasty decision because of the situation. Rani pleads with Ramchandra to end his dispute with Mathur and change his decision of leaving the estate, but he insists on speaking to his uncle first. After Ramchandra leaves, Mathur tells Rani that he will go to help Madhab. Mathur convinces Jagadamba to let him go to Golapur. Later, Padma watches Mathur making arrangements to leave for Golapur which infuriates her. Rani gives Chandra's pistol to Mathur.
