Noboborsho is celebrated in every Bengali household as it marks the auspicious beginning of a new year and the beginning of new happiness. This is the time of the year when people want to mark new beginnings in their personal lives as well as in their professional spheres in many cases. Similarly, many characters of Zee Bangla serials also deserve to start afresh after the not-so-pleasant past that they have had.

Krishna in Krishnakoli

In Krishnakoli, Shyama and Nikhil’s daughter Krishna has had to go through a lot in her life. She spent 18 years of her life away from her family and had no idea who her father was. Even after she came to Kolkata and was accepted by the Choudhury family, she has been on the receiving end of Munni’s hatred and Gopal’s evil plans. In one of the instances, Gopal poisoned her which severely affected her throat and she had to suffer again. No matter how difficult life got for her, we never saw Krishna turning bitter or harming anyone back. This sweet, innocent girl is loved by the audience and we’d love to see her making a fresh start, especially now that her affection for Aniruddho is quite evident!

Oishani in Jibon Saathi

Jibon Saathi‘s Oishani has had a very tragic story when it comes to her love life. She and Rik have been in love for a very long time but due to many complications, were not able to get married to each other. After much effort, they finally got married but they are yet to experience marital bliss. Koushani has been a constant source of problems for both. From hurting Oishani on the wedding day to trying to spoil every special day of hers, Koushani has been a huge obstacle in Rik and Oishani’s marriage. Oishani deserves a new, auspicious start because she has been away from her love for the longest time and now that she has got married to him, she should get all the happiness in the world.

Mithai in Mithai

Mithai is an apt example of a strong, resilient woman who has been fighting her way through life with a smile. Mithai has been wronged in many ways by many people. She was supposed to get married to Som but when he refused to marry her, Siddhartha became her husband. After marriage, Siddharth refused to accept her as his wife and has constantly insulted and demeaned her for her rural upbringing and her simplicity which is considered as foolishness by many in the urban setup. Even her father-in-law has always thought of her as a gold-digger and has tried to throw her out of the house in many instances. Mithai has always tried to help the members of the Modak family and has never meant harm to anyone. Such a pure soul deserves a fresh and happy start, don’t you agree?

Annada in Rani Rashmoni

In Rani Rashmoni, recently Rani Maa‘s grandson Ganesh got married to Annada, who is a resident of Nabadwip and lives with her mother there. Annada escaped Jodu Gosai’s plan of marrying her to Lord Krishna, all thanks to Rani Maa who saved her. However, Annada wasn’t really accepted by Padma, Ganesh’s mother. The poor woman, who was initially glad to have escaped from living a futile life, is now feeling guilty of not being able to please her mother-in-law. We hope things improve for her and her marital life brings her nothing but joy.

Krishna in Jamuna Dhaki

Krishna, Jamuna’s sister, from Jamuna Dhaki has been through a very tragic past. Bhushan has had bad intentions towards her for a very long time and he has been trying to take advantage of her for the longest time. Even after she got married, her husband Laltu turned out to be a greedy man who has no conscience and can do anything for money. Bhushan took advantage of Laltu’s greed and gave him money for spending the wedding night with Krishna. He forced himself upon her, causing her immense pain and trauma. Krishna is a naive, soft-spoken girl who does not deserve such people in her life. It is high time she broke free!
