With the Ganpati festival going on in full swing, it’s expected that Mumbai will witness heartbreaking sights after the visarjan. But, Pragya is prepared for that. She said that she shouldn’t need a specific day to remind her to keep the surroundings clean. It’s something that has to be ingrained right from childhood. That’s the reason they’re are doing a clean-up drive at Juhu beach on September 20. Pragya has even urged people from all over to join them in the cause.
Talking to Outlook about the same, she had recently said that they were keeping the festival of Ganpati in mind and they’ve have planned a beach clean-up drive on September 20 at Juhu beach. Her team of volunteers shall get on ground trying to salvage the situation to their best capacities.
She is an environmentalist first, and to her, it has to be the humbling effect that lingers on her every time she is out there trying to make a difference. That’s the best part of being an environmentalist and she pointed this out in her Outlook interview. Nature makes her realise how inconsequential and powerless human beings are to its force. But despite that lack of control, humans continue waging our battles, that’s the unrealistic power it has bestowed on us. She thinks that itself is a beautiful contradiction there. More importantly, it teaches us humans to be kind and gentle to everything around us. We’re made aware of our modest place in this vast interconnected web of life.
