Aparna Sen Wraps Up The Shoot Of Her Upcoming Directorial, The Rapist

Aparna Sen’s upcoming directorial The Rapist has been in the buzz for a while now. Recently, the film’s final shoot schedule was completed and the project is now under post-production. The film features Arjun Rampal and Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead roles and was being shot in New Delhi. Sen’s ‘The Rapist’, right from its announcement has got the audience excited.
The shoot of The Rapist began in March this year and it seems the team has wrapped the project on time. Earlier, last month Arjun completed his portion of the film and had shared a heartwarming note for the director and the team of The Rapist. Also, actor Tanmay Dhanania will be playing a vital part in the film. He too had shared a long post on Instagram thanking the team and director Aparna Sen.
For those unversed, Aparna Sen, in an interview had revealed that The Rapist is a “hard-hitting drama that examines how much of society is responsible for producing rapists.” Sen had also mentioned that the film will stress upon sexual violence and sexual trauma prevalent in society. And exploring the “aftermath of the crime” would be the crux of the story.
The film also marks the reunion of the mother-daughter duo Aparna and Konkona. The two had worked together in many films including the National award-winning Mr and Mrs Iyer. Also, it will be the second time that Konkona will be sharing screen space with Arjun Rampal. The duo had worked together in the independent anthology film Meridian Lines.
