Kaagaz: Monal Gajjar, A Gujarati Who Is Winning Hearts In Telugu Film Industry

Kaagaz, the latest ZEE5 original film, gave us not only a great story with inspiration, but it also showed us some great acting performances. Pankaj Tripathi, Monal Gajjar, Mita Vashishth, Amar Upadhyay, and Satish Kaushik among the many, have acted their parts really well in Kaagaz. Monal Gajjar’s performance in Kaagaz is one to look out for, for many reasons. Read on to know about it.

Monal Gajjar started her acting career in 2012, with a Telugu film, Sudigadu. She is a Gujarati, belonging to Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Despite being a native Gujarati speaker, she was very successful in her first role in the Telugu film Sudigadu. She was also nominated in the Best Debut Actress category at SIIMA awards. After Sudigadu, she continued her career in the Telugu industry and extended it to the Tamil thereafter.

Monal Gajjar appeared in the 2014 Tamil film, Vanavarayan Vallavarayan, and also excelled in this role. She had already begun making her place prominent in the South Indian film industry by nailing the Tamil and Telugu dialects despite not being a native speaker. Her performance in the Telugu film Brother of Bommali also earned her a lot of recognition. After that, she also appeared in a number of Gujarati films.

In 2021, she appeared in Kaagaz, her first Hindi feature film which starred her in the lead role. Monal Gajjar, in Kaagaz, plays the role of Bharat Lal’s (Pankaj Tripathi) wife. Her character belongs to Uttar Pradesh and here, once again, Monal Gajjar has excelled at delivering a dialect that is not native to her. She has spoken her dialogues in the perfect Hindi accent that was required to depict her as a woman from Uttar Pradesh.

Monal Gajjar, in Kaagaz, has given a great dialogue delivery in the accent and she has excelled it in fact. She has also captured her character Rukmini’s expressions perfectly, and very flawlessly, has breathed life into the character. Also, her chemistry with Pankaj Tripathi in Kaagaz is beautiful. Be it an emotional scene or a funny one, Monal Gajjar has performed each of her scenes effectively.
