मनोरंजन/ एंटरटेनमेंटOn this special day, let’s look at four such characters from Zee Marathi who worked hard for their personal freedom.
The nation will be celebrating it’s 74th Independence Day soon. It isn’t just the occasion to celebrate independence from the external rule but also to rejoice our personal freedom. Speaking of which, here are some of our favourite characters from Zee Marathi who had to go through their own struggle for freedom. On this special day, let’s look at these characters who will make you realise the value of freedom. We begin with Mazhya Navryachi Bayko‘s Radhika (Anita Date).
Watch an episode of Mazhya Navryachi Bayko here.
1. Radhika From Mazhya Navryachi Bayko
This character from Mazhya Navryachi Bayko deserves a bow for being the inspiration for many women out there. Her life has been a roller-coaster ride which has brought about drastic changes in her. Her struggles began with Gurunath (Abhijeet Khandkekar) who despised her from being a small-town girl with no aspirations. He thought of her as an unnecessary baggage who was good for nothing. Radhika had a point to prove and set out on a journey towards her freedom. She built a start-up and became a successful entrepreneur. Radhika is one of the most respectable women in her field of work currently. Even though Gurunath doesn’t show it outwardly, he surely regrets leaving Radhika for Shanaya (Rasika Sunil). That being said, let’s not forget the sacrifices Radhika had to make on her path to freedom.
2. Sindhu From Sindhu
Like Radhika, Sindhu‘s (Aditi Jaltare) journey to break free from the societal norms is heartening to watch. This little wonder was bound to certain obligations after her marriage but still aspired to complete her education. Since it wasn’t socially acceptable for women to pursue further education, Sindhu had to go against the wishes of her own family. She fought for her rights and also questioned the regressive norms of society. Sindhu managed to fulfill her dreams by reaching Baroda where she pursued her education.
3. Asawari From Agga Bai Sasubai
When we speak of freedom struggle, we can’t forget Asawari. The protagonist from Agga Bai Sasubai embraced freedom thanks to the continuous efforts of Shubhra. Asawari was a widow who couldn’t live her life fully enough owing to the burden of responsibilities. On top of it, there was Soham who opposed her marriage with Abhijeet. He even pushed Ajoba into thinking that it’s not right for a woman to get remarried. With Shubhra’s support, Asawari cleared the obstacles in her way to start her life afresh with Abhijeet. Her struggles finally bore fruit as she got herself an amazing partner to keep.
4. Sai From Maza Hoshil Na
Unlike the above-mentioned characters, Sai (Gautami Deshpande) is still striving for her freedom. Sai is the rebellious kid on the block who refuses to give in to her parents’ wish to get married to a rich man and settle down for a comfortable life. She wants to pursue her passion and earn for herself instead of living under her parents’ wings. Sai desires to be independent in every sense, be it while choosing a groom for marriage, her career, or even her love life. That’s how she would be able to enjoy the little joys along with Aditya (Virajas Kulkarni), don’t you think?
Here’s wishing you all a Happy Independence Day 2020! Let’s strive to become free from the shackles of society just like these characters.
