It Took Me A While To Snap Out Of It: Paayal Radhakrishna On Her Role Of Kaveri In Bhinna

Parinika Uchil . Oct 18, 2019 .

Find out about what went on in the mind of Paayal, who plays the protagonist Kaveri, while shooting for the ZEE5 Original Kannada film Bhinna, here!

With a clear story and goal in mind, the ZEE5 Original Kannada Film Bhinna’s award-winning director Adarsh Eshwarappa didn’t leave a single stone unturned to ensure its success. A huge fan of Puttanna Kanagal, Adarsh also roped in the same cast, i.e, Paayal Radhakrishna, Shashank Purushottam, Sowmya Jagadish and Sidhaartha Maadhyamika for Bhinna, his second film after his successful debut in 2017 as a director for Shuddhi, another award-winning movie.

The story mainly revolves around Kaveri, the protagonist, who is an aspiring actress, recently obsessed with method-acting. For the same, when she gets a film script, she decides to dedicate a few days in a rented cabin in the woods understanding her role better. However, thrill-filled scenes follow right from the first night of her stay there. She starts seeing the characters in the script as people from her real life. But to what end?

Apart from the huge message we gain from in the end, kudos to actress Paayal Radhakrishna, who has done a fantastic job as Kaveri. But what went through the talented lass during and after the shoots? In an interview with a leading media daily, Paayal opened about this and gave fans two important answers.

Starting with her onscreen character, Kaveri. Paayal said, “My character is mentally disturbed, which is the result of everything that has happened to her from her childhood, married life, and so on. Each event in her life has some sort of effect on her, and the story is about what happens after that.”

But how did this affect the actress? “For around a week, we shot at a villa on the outskirts of Bengaluru, during which we did double shifts — we worked for 16 hours each day. We were all completely immersed in the script and there was no chance to relax. Since I was constantly thinking the way my character does, I was actually depressed. It took me a while to snap out of it,” said Paayal.
