Rishi Kapoor has been loved by all for all of his career. Even when he played the chubby kid in Mera Naam Joker – he was loved. What began with Bobby to Sharmaji Namkeen which will release posthumously – his fans watched out for him in every way. So when the veteran actor passed away, there were months of mourning in every Hindi film lovers’ house. Recently when his wife Neetu Kapoor was interviewed, the actress revealed a heart breaking news about how Chintuji’s last wish had remained unfulfilled. Apparently like every father, Rishi Kapoor’s ultimate wish was to see his son married in the whole Peshawari grandeur.
Speaking about his last wish, Neetu revealed on The Kapil Sharma Show, “One was to see Ranbir wearing a turban with an emerald and a broach in the Peshawari tradition – astride a ghodi, on his wedding day. He was totally sentimental about this, he’d keep saying, “Kisi din, mujhe hamare bete ko ghodi pe sawaar dekhna hai.”
Rishi ji’s wish could have seen fruition, given Ranbir Kapoor has been unofficially in a relationship with his Bhramastra co-star, Alia Bhatt since 2017. While there have been talks about the two getting married, neither Ranbir not Alia have come out and spoken about it. While they have holidayed and celebrated all the good days and bad days together, the two have never committed. Alia in fact, has gone on record and called their relationship the most beautiful one she has had, “It’s not a relationship. It’s a friendship. I’m saying this with all genuineness and honesty. It’s beautiful. I’m walking on stars and clouds right now. The best part is that we’re two individuals who are living our own professional lives in its full form right now. He’s shooting continuously. So am I. It’s not a situation where you’ll see us constantly together. That’s the true mark of a comfortable relationship. Nazar na lage.”
Guess, even big stars can’t make the time stop for them, Rishi ji succumbed to Leukemia (blood cancer) and breathed his last on April 30, 2020.
