Jodu Gosai seems to have many regressive ideas and we think only Gadadhar can help him overcome those.

Zee Bangla’s popular serial Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni stars Ditipriya Roy as Rani Rashmoni, Gourab Chatterjee as Mathuramohan Biswas and Sourav Saha as Gadadhar Chattopadhyay. In a recent episode, Rani Rashmoni and Gadadhar decided to visit Nabadwip Dham but the chief priest of the Krishna temple, Jodu Gosai, does not want Rani Maa and Gadadhar to visit the temple. Jodu Gosai might be the chief priest of the temple but he surely nurtures a lof objectionable values. One can only hope that encountering a broad-minded, truly spiritual person like Gadadhar will bring at least slight changes in him.

Crooked mind

Being a priest is one of the noblest professions and a priest is expected to have a non-materialistic outlook towards life, and a kind heart. Jodu Gosai, however, has a very crooked mind. He tried to hinder the visit of Rani Maa and Gadadhar to Nabadwip by instructing the boatmen to abandon them. On the other hand, Gadadhar has always shown us his pure and simple heart with his kind deeds. He has never wished for anything ill to happen to anyone. The difference between the two is really evident here.

Caste prejudice

Jodu Gosai seems to be a strong advocate of the caste system. He differentiates people on the basis of their caste and that in return changes his attitude towards them. Due to his regressive thoughts about caste, he repeatedly insulted Rani Rashmoni. He also tried stopping her from entering the Baishnab Dham due to her caste. We think Gadadhar can very well educate Jodu Gosai about caste and preach his idea that everyone is a child of God and they all should be treated equally.

Reservation towards different faiths

Jodu Gosai has been seen discriminating between himself and Rani Maa on the basis of the Gods they worship. He does not have acceptance towards all faiths and does not want Rani Rashmoni and Gadadhar to visit Nabadwip as they worship Goddess Kali, whose worship includes animal slaughter. Gadadhar has always preached that all the Gods are the same entity and even in Nabadwip, he tells Jodu Gosai that Kali and Krishna are the same. Hopefully, Jodu Gosai can pay attention to Gadadhar’s teaching and be more inclusive of all faiths.

Misuse of power

Jodu Gosai seems to believe in the idea that he is superior to many because he is the chief priest in Baishnab Dham. He exercises his position for power and tries to instill the fear of sin among people. Gadadhar is one of the most important people in Dakshineswar temple but he has never boasted of his authority; neither has he ever used it for personal gain. Jodu Gosai can learn how to be in an important position and yet be humble about it.
