Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey To Clash With 4 Other Big Ticket Films At The Box-office On Diwali?

Film production houses, too are gearing up to release their films at the theatres. Diwali especially is a big time for film releases, and producers make a beeline for the Diwali release. This year too it’s no different. There are many Bollywood, Hollywood and regional films which are slated to release this Diwali.

Two of the Bollywood films that are slated to release on Diwali are Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey and Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj. Both these Hindi films will be clashing with Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam which is a bilingual and Marvel’s Eternals.

While earlier in the year, there were news that apart from Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey and Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj, Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deols’ Apne 2, and Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai would also see a Diwali 2021 release. However, there has been no confirmation about the release of the latter two films.

Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey is a sports drama written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film is a remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same title.Shahid plays a thirty-six year old cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago and now aims to play for the Indian cricket team. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Shahid’s father, Pankaj Kapur. The film is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.

Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj is a period drama directed by Dr Chandrapraksh Dwived and also stars Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan.
