Sonam Kapoor and Kajal Aggarwal are all set to make a comeback on the big screens as their films Blind and Uma are hurrying to release early next year. Read on to know the details

Now that the theatres are reopened, filmmakers are announcing their movies. Sooryavanshi directed by Rohit Shetty even got released in cinema houses recently. The theatres in Maharashtra are reopened with a 50% occupancy rule. Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar was the first film to complete its shooting during the pandemic. The other films that were also shot during the lockdown are Sonam Kapoor’s Blind and Kajal Aggarwal’s Uma.

Blind starring Sonam Kapoor was shot in Glasgow, U.K., while the shooting of Kajal Aggarwal’s Uma had taken place in Kolkata. Interestingly, both films are thrillers and are female-centric affairs with Sonam Kapoor and Kajal Aggarwal appearing in a unique and never-seen-before avatar. According to the source of a leading portal, both films Blind and Uma are nearing the completion stage with the post-production in full swing. Both the films will be ready for release in the next few months.

The source further adds that during the most bizarre times where most film shoots were halted, the production house of Blind channelized its resources well to wrap up the principal shooting of the film in February 2021. It went on floors last year in Glasgow when the pandemic crisis was at its zenith and the entire U.K. was under a lockdown.

Speaking of Uma, it was completed in August this year when the deadly second wave of the pandemic was still erupting across India. The film faced problems like night curfew or stringent Covid-19 restrictions during the shooting process. The managing partner of the production house, Avishek Ghosh, said to a leading portal that the pandemic phase has helped them in realizing the importance of lean film crews operating in a tight and compact shooting schedule. He added that they had to address the safety concerns while ensuring that the film crew was working with medical support systems in place.

As per the information of the source of the leading daily, next after these two films would be a thriller that would star a well-known leading actress from the Hindi film industry. The film is likely to be on floors from January 2022. Then there is also a slice-of-life anthology film that should go on floors in March/April’ 22. Pre-production of both films is currently in full swing, the source concluded.
