HollywoodThe Golden Globe Awards 2022 winners list has been announced and many stars have been titled in various categories. The talented Billie Elish took it home for the best original song of the year
The Golden Globe Awards are currently in the spotlight, as the winners’ list has been released, and fans are unable to remain calm. Fans are enthralled by seeing their favourite actor or artist, or even a show, win an award. Billie Eilish won Best Original Song at the 2022 Golden Globe Awards, which were not broadcast on television.
The 20-year-old singer took home the award for her James Bond theme song, No Time To Die, from the movie of the identical name, which she co-wrote alongside her musician brother Finneas O’Connell, 24, and recorded in a room apartment. Beyonce, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Van Morrison, Carole King, and Jennifer Hudson were among the finalists. Eilish, who penned the melody when she was 17 years old, holds the title for being the youngest musician to write and perform a James Bond soundtrack.
Beyoncé for her song Be Alive from the film King Richard; Lin-Manuel Miranda for Dos Orugitas from the film Encanto; Van Morrison for the melody Down to Joy from the motion picture Belfast; Jennifer Hudson and Carole King for the melody Here I Am from the movie Respect are all the other Globe nominations for the best original track.
No Time To Die received a Grammy for greatest song adapted for visual media at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in March 2021.
The song’s melancholy video portrays Eilish in monochrome as she delivers the lyrics of a song, with bits from the movie interspersed throughout.
‘It sounds surreal to be a member of this in any manner,’ the singer said in a statement when the announcement of her being a part of a Bond score initially broke in 2020. It’s a big honour to be able to compose the theme music for a movie that is a component of such a classic franchise.’
Two past Golden Globe Bond winners, Adele for Skyfall and Sam Smith for Writing’s on the Wall, proceeded to win Oscars, putting Eilish one inch ahead to an Oscar. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony was neither broadcasted nor streamed live this year because it was a closed affair. The winners were revealed on Twitter and on the Globes’ main site.
