Vicky Kaushal Starrer Sardar Udham Singh To Have A Theatrical Release, Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar Drops Update

A lot of movies in 2020 were brought to a halt due to the coronavirus lockdown. While some of the filmmakers pushed their films’ release dates, some also stopped the shooting of their outings as it was not the right option to gather in huge numbers. One such movie amongst many others was Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh biopic which was all set to release in January 2021 but the development was then put to a halt, keeping in mind the on-going pandemic. However, now, the director of the movie dropped an update about the film’s release.

Recently, filmmaker Shoojit Sircar revealed to a daily that by the end of February, the makers will be able to announce the new release date. He further added that by late next month, the team should be able to drop an update. More so, the team was very lucky to have completed the shoot of Sardar Udham Singh by February-end last year, before the lockdown, he continued. As of now, the post-production work, including editing and music, is going on and the dubbing of the movie will begin soon, said Shoojit. A few reports that flared on the internet mentioned that Kaushal’s film would have an OTT release. The filmmaker also opined about this and mentioned that the audience deserves to experience the tale of the freedom fighter in all its glory, on the silver screen. He added that the team is eyeing a theatrical release this year.

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal shared the first look posters of his upcoming sci-fi film, The Immortal Ashwatthama. He dropped the posters on the 2nd anniversary of his hit film, URI-The Surgical Strike. “Overwhelmed and ecstatic! The team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team of Aditya Dhar films,” he wrote while sharing the posters. The movie is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Many stars like Malavika Mohanan, Angira Dhar, Richa Chadha, Gaurav Gera, among others, congratulated Kaushal. The actor dipped his toes in the world of entertainment with his appearance in the movie, Masaan (2015), directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, and since then, there was no looking back for him.
