Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani lost his father Moti Dadlani revealed in an Instagram picture weeks ago, a day before his dad’s death, that he had tested positive for COVID-19. “This is for anyone who has contacted me during the last week or ten days. Unfortunately, following all caution, I tested positive for Covid. I’ve never encountered someone without a mask on, save during weekly shootings (where all testing methods were followed to the best of my knowledge). After his late father, Moti Dadlani’s cremation on January 15, 2022, music composer Vishal Dadlani wrote a heartfelt memorial. On January 8, 2022, Vishal’s father died. Because he was fighting COVID-19 at the time, the composer has been unable to meet him. Vishal sent a message to his Instagram account on Saturday, remembering his beloved father. My Father was cremated today by my Mother, Sister, nieces, and me. As this sorrow in my chest, Not a day will pass without my saying “Love you, Dad.” and hearing his voice reply “Love you, betu.” he now walks with me forever. ‘I’ll never be with him again, but I’ll never be without him either. The musician had notified his friends and supporters of his father died last week, saying, “Last night, I lost my dearest friend, the loveliest and kindest man on the planet. I couldn’t have asked for a greater Father or for someone to be my life’s instructor. Anything nice in me is but a sliver of him. He’d been in ICU for the last 3/4 days (due to a botched gall bladder surgery), but I couldn’t visit him after I tested positive for Covid. I can’t even go comfort my Mother in her hour of need. It’s not even close to being equitable.”
