About the movie Sajan: Tale of intense suspense 

Sajan is a Hindi romantic movie that revolves around a wealthy and renowned businessman named Ashok. He is initially reluctant to marry a dancer, but is gradually enamoured by her beauty and decides to take the plunge. But destiny has some other plans for the couple as the two are soon entangled in the murder of a driver. Another driver is also a key suspect. So, all three suspects come up to the police. This creates utter confusion in the minds of the investigating officers. What will happen in the court proceedings? Will the actual murderer come to light? Sajan movie plot: An out-and-out thriller

One fine day, a wealthy businessman named Ashok suddenly finds an article in a newspaper claiming that he will soon marry a dancer named Rajani. Angry and anxious, he decides to file a lawsuit against Rajni, but instead is besotted with her beauty and innocence. She also reciprocates her feelings for him. At first, Ashok does not reveal his true identity. Both are ready to get married. But in a turn of events, the two get involved in the murder of a driver. 

Now, there are three suspects in front of the police, Ashok, Rajani, and Ashok’s driver. All of them present themselves as killers, and they have different versions of the story in a bid to save each other’s skin.

The Sajan cast includes Manoj Kumar as Ashok, Asha Parekh as Rajni, Om Prakash as Ashok’s driver, Madan Puri as Dharamdas the driver who got murdered, Shatrughan Sinha as SI Tiwari, Sulochona Latkar as Laajwanti, and Iftekhar as the lawyer.

Mohan Segal directed this Hindi musical film and produced it as well. The music of the movie was provided by the great musician duo Laxmiknat-Pyarelal. 

Interesting facts about the movie Sajan 

Sajan is said to be partly adapted from the 1951 English movie “Happy Go Lovely”, and partly from the 1937 play “I Killed the Count”.

Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha debuted in this movie.

Reportedly, Amitabh Bachchan gave a screen test for a film on the sets of Sajan and it was arranged by Nargis Dutt.
