The matchmaker tells the Marh family about the difficulty in finding a match for an educated girl like Jagadamba. However, Rani refuses to pay any dowry and rejects the proposal brought by the matchmaker. Padma warns Rani of going against social norms. Meanwhile, Jagadamba endorses Ishwar’s views on dowry. Padma decides to ask Chandra to gift Mahendra some land. Padma tells Rani that like Mathur, Padma too needs to be aware of her share in the property. Padma's behaviour shocks Rani and Karuna.
