Diagnosis of Love Review: A perfect brew of romance and suspense from Mahesh Manjrekar

Mahesh Manjrekar’s film Diagnosis of Love is the fourth short film from the anthology of film-series on ZEE5 called Forbidden Love. Featuring some of the finest performances from actors like Raima Sen, Vaibhav Tatwaeaadi and Rannvijay Singh, Diagnosis of Love is surely one of the best thrillers out there for its brilliant filmmaking and noteworthy characters. The film tells the story of a romance that forms between two medical professionals. When Sudha supports a young surgeon named Harsh in his professional career, their relationship slowly starts to evolve. Sudha’s life is quickly overturned by the newness of her relationship with the young man and she starts noticing everything wrong about her married life to her husband Vaibhav.

The movie takes us on an eventful ride with Sudha as she explores the invisible borders of freedom permitted by her married life. Sudha is quickly exposed to the dangers of leading a parallel relationship even though her notions are clear with Harsh. Raima Sen deserves all the applause for essaying Sudha to perfection as her chemistry with other actors on screen is nothing but phenomenal.

Rannvijay Singh also essays an interesting character in the film as the private detective for Sudha’s husband Vaibhav. Portrayed as a symbol of moral policing and misogynistic ideals of the society at first, it’s hard for the viewers to agree with his conservative methods. Rannvijay’s character undergoes a massive transformation in the story as we completely look at him from a different angle by the end of the movie.

Diagnosis of Love is unique for the wonderful balance it shows in storyline, filmmaking and on-screen performances. Nothing excessive or out of place is focused upon, even though the theme is on the pursuit of an unorthodox relationship. Diagnosis of Love is an easy recommendation for film lovers to enjoy as it is surely going to be an enthralling 40 minutes for all of you who loves good movies!
