YRF’s BIG Announcement: Shamshera, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar Movie Release Dates Revealed!

The long wait is over for fans of Bollywood, as Yash Raj Films (YRF), who had cancelled many releases last year has announced their line-up of films for 2021. The production house had shelved a number of movies last year due to the COVID-19 induced lockdown and fans were left disappointed. Now, the production house, which boasts of the best film line-up has announced the release dates for the year.

The production house has announced five new films including a couple that has been making headlines for over a year now. The line-up includes the likes of Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Prithviraj, Shamshera, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and Bunty Aur Babli 2. As the production house announced the release dates of all these movies, we will have to wait and see how this will affect Bollywood’s comeback to the theatres after almost a year of shutdown.

First of the lot, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, led by Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor, will hit the theatres on March 19. The film directed by Dibakar Banerjee has been completed and waiting for a release date since 2018. Now, the fans will finally get to experience it in theatres in the coming month.

Bunty Aur Babli 2, sequel to the Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji starrer 2005 hit of the same name, is set to hit the theatres on April 23. The movie will feature Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sharvari, and is directed by Varun V Sharma. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh‘s Jayeshbhai Jordaar directed by Divyang Thakkar will be releasing on August 27.

One of the biggest movies of the lot, Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj will hit the theatres on Diwali this year. The film which was originally set to release during Diwali last year, features the Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar in the lead role. The movie that will share sales with Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey also features Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood.

Sanjay Dutt will also feature in Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera which is set to release on June 25 this year. The period drama is directed by Karan Malhotra. As fans eagerly wait for the movies’ releases, critics believe that the production house has announced the best line-up of films for the year. Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, Rajkummar Rao’s Roohi, and Ranveer Singh’s ’83, are some other big-name movies set to release this year.
