Banita Sandhu Heaps Praises On Director Shoojit Sircar; Says ‘He Is The Best Director’

Banita Sandhu is a British actor who made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with the film October. She shared the screen space with Varun Dhawan. Recently her second Hindi film has been released digitally and received a great response from the audience. The film starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead and it was directed by Shoojit Sircar. Banita Sandhu played the role of a deaf-and-mute girl and touched the audience’s hearts without speaking even a word. The actress recently talked about her role in the film to a leading news portal.

While speaking to a leading news portal, Banita Sandhu said that working in the film has been incredible, and it has exceeded her expectations. With Vicky and Shoojit sir, she knew it was going to be a good movie, but they have just taken the film to another level. The actress didn’t expect anything because her role was so small and now to see people touched by it makes her feel so happy and warm inside.

The actress further said that when Shoojit told me that she would be playing a deaf-and-mute character, the first thing she had to do was learn the Indian Sign Language (ISL). The film was set 100 years ago in Amritsar in Punjab, so she had to localise it to make it look authentic to the region. She was attending the school for a week, observing and interacting with the kids. Banita also said that Shoojit gave her the space to play. There were moments when she interacted with Vicky Kaushal to improvise, with the cameras capturing the moment. It was a really lovely experience for Banita Sandhu.

Speaking of Shoojit Sircar she further said that he is the best for her and she thinks he is the best director not only of India but of this world. She wants to work with him in the future also and she is ready to do whatever he says but at the same time, if given a chance, she would definitely like to work with Zoya Akhtar once.
