Bhumi Pednekar Reveals The Role She Would Love To Play On-screen – Don’t Miss

Actor Bhumi Pednekar has never feared going out with her character. In her first movie itself, she played the role of a woman who did not fit the societal definition of ‘beauty’. In few other movies also, she had performed the roles which have been emerged as one of the strongest screen performers. But ever since then, there has been no looking back for her.

Bhumi Pednekar is known for her diverse film choices and she rose to prominence by playing headstrong small-town women in the comedy dramas.By continuing her portrayal, the actor has completed her shoot with actor Rajkummar Rao for ‘Badhai Do’, a spiritual sequel to the 2018 comedy, ‘Badhai Ho’.

The actor who is also vocal about issues such as pay parity and has spoken out about the gender pay gap in Bollywood, calling it ‘heartbreaking’ has recently wrapped up her shoot for ‘Bheed’ and has revealed that she would now like to play a ‘freedom fighter’ on the big screen.

Talking about her dream role in Bollywood, the actor said, ‘playing a freedom fighter on screen would be my dream role! I’m fascinated by such remarkable personalities and it would be an honour for me to play someone like that on screen. I actually want to do that and I hope that the universe is listening to this. I would also like to be a part of a fantasy project. There are so many different types of projects that I would love to explore and experience as an actor.’

‘I think one common thread in all my films or the work I have done is that I am trying to break stereotypes. I have done that right from ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and I do see myself playing ambitious, vocal, beautiful, gutsy women on screen because I relate to them deeply. I’m thrilled that I’m an artiste today and that I’m living my dream every single day and creatively expressing myself freely,’ added the actor.
