Read on to know more about A Table For Two Season 2 Episode 1.
The episode begins with Ira Dubey introducing us to the show and the two guests of the day. Both Aparshakti Khurana and Karishma Tanna are good friends and were present with enlivening energy. Initially, they talked about how the year of lockdown had been for them and then proceeded to talk about their current projects.
Karishma Tanna talked about her most recent film as a lead actor, Lahore Confidential on ZEE5 and Aparshakti Khurana also talked about getting his first film as a lead actor – Helmet. “I hope people give me the same love and respect [for Helmet] as they have given to me, as a supporting actor,” Aparshakti said.
Karishma Tanna opened up about getting her first break in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Aparshakti Khurana also talked about his first break in Dangal. While talking about his Dangal audition, Aparshakti revealed how, while reading his character’s lines, he started crying because he felt too connected to the character.
On the other hand, Karishma Tanna, while talking about her audition for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, revealed, “Since I was from South Bombay, I was not good at speaking Hindi. I just sent some of my pictures to Balaji Telefilms and I was not really expecting a call. But I got a call for the audition for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and got a big monologue to speak for it. I did not know acting or a lot of Hindi and I went there cluelessly. And when they said ‘action,’ I was so scared, I somehow spoke the lines in broken Hindi. After a week, I was waiting for their call to know if I am accepted or rejected. I got a call after a month saying they have selected me for the role. I think Ekta ma’am really liked my face. She doesn’t see acting, she sees if a person fits into the character that is written. Even if she is fumbling [read: I was fumbling], that is a character. And that is exactly how my character was, clumsy and raw, and that’s what she saw in me [in her audition].”
After a great chat, the actors played some games with Ira Dubey, which was fun to watch. During a rapid-fire round, Karishma Tanna was asked who is the person that she would like to be followed by on social media, and she said, “Mr Modi (PM Narendra Modi).”
The setting of the show is really aesthetic this season. The blacks, the browns, and the golds make for a pleasing setting. The games selected are also very interesting and exciting to watch. Aparshakti and Karishma had a lot of fun stuff to share and talk about. It is also great to watch Ira Dubey hosting again, and she makes for a great host. She connected the multiple sections of the show in a neat way, while also keeping the audiences engaged with the guests and their stories. Overall, the episode has succeeded in starting the new season on a high note, making the audience wanting to see more of the table-chats with different guests.
Interestingly, this wasn’t Tanna’s first appearance on the show. She had earlier appeared with her good friend, Anita Hassanandani on season one.
