Adipurush: Saif Ali Khan Issues Clarification And Apologises For His ‘Humane Raavan’ Comment

Time and again several celebrities end up landing into different controversies due to their comments or sharing their piece of mind on certain subjects. Recently, Saif Ali Khan landed in controversy while talking about his movie Adipurush. The actor’s comment on the mythological character Raavan which received several backlashes from netizens. Now, Saif Ali Khan has issued a clarification as he apologised for his comment.

In an interview, Saif Ali Khan opened up on portraying the character of Raavan in his upcoming movie Adhipurush. He said that it is interesting to play a demon king but he will make him humane to take up the entertainment quotient. He also said that he will try to justify Raavan’s abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpankha by Lakshman.

The actor’s statement didn’t go well with certain people and he was trolled on social media. Several fans also demanded that the actor be replaced in the Prabhas’ starrer. Saif Ali Khan responded to the trolls and issued a clarification for the same. Take a look at his statement below.

“I’ve been made aware that one of my statements during an interview, has caused controversy and hurt people’s sentiments. This was never my intention or meant that way. I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions,” Saif said. Adipurush is an upcoming film directed by Om Raut. Saif will play the role of Lankesh, the demon King Ravan, in the film. It will feature Prabhas in the role of Lord Ram. Adipurush will hit the screen on August 11, 2022.
