Aggabai Sunbai’s senior-most actor, Mohan Joshi who plays the role of Ajoba, Asawari’s father-in-law has tested positive for COVID-19 earlier yesterday. The cast of the show had been shooting in Goa due to the ban on shooting in Mumbai placed by the Maharashtra government. Mohan Joshi has been with the cast in Goa for some time now and has reportedly contracted the disease even after taking both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine!
He took his first dose in March and his second on April 20th and has still contracted the virus. He has self-quarantined himself in his hotel room where he was staying with the cast. It is yet to know if other actors have contracted the disease yet or not. Earlier in January this year, Mohan Joshi stepped into late actor Ravi Patwardhan’s shoes to play the role of Ajoba after Ravi Patwardhan’s sad demise last year.
Actor Mohan Joshi is a very popular face in both Hindi and Marathi entertainment industries and has done several films in both these languages. Hence, it was easy for him to step into this new character and make fans love him as well! The actor joined the show’s first season as it was nearing its end and stayed on for the second season.
Currently, Ajoba’s character is very interesting as he shares a great frenemy banter with Abhijit, a loving bond with Shubhra, Asawari and Shubham and recently, a person interested in Leena Aaji, his childhood friend! Actor Chinmay Udgirkar who recently made an entry on the show as Anurag also had a couple of sweet scenes with Ajoba and we could see a new friendship form.
We hope our Ajoba recovers soon and bounces back on the sets quickly. We wish him a speedy recovery!
