Here are some Bollywood actors who have educated the janta in some way or the other about sex.
Preity Zinta
A few years back, Preity Zinta played the main lead in a film that dealt with pre-marital pregnancy. It sent a message to many youngsters about the consequences of having sex before marriage. In the film, Preity’s character is looked down upon as she becomes pregnant and has a baby out of wedlock. The film did not receive much praise as it was released at a time when sex and any talk of it were taboo in Bollywood. However, if it were to be made today it would probably teach the younger generation to have safe sex!
Ayushman Khurrana
Ayushmann Khurrana has dealt with this topic not once but thrice! The first time it was for Vicky Donor where he spoke about sperm donation and the stigma attached to it. Then he did it again with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, where he talked about erectile dysfunction and all the misleading notions about it. The third time in Badai Ho, he plays a young man where his elderly mother becomes pregnant again, telling the world that older couples can have sex and babies too and that it is completely ok!
Sonakshi Sinha
In Khandaani Shafaqkhana, Sonakshi Sinha plays a character who runs a sex clinic as she inherits it. She then makes it her mission to spread sexual awareness in her town, and while doing so, she educates the audience as well!
Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, Lehar Khan
These four actresses, Radhika Apte, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, and Lehar Khan, via their movie Parched, educated women about how it is not a sin to express their sexual fantasies and desires.
Our society is slowly changing as far as talking openly about sex and sex education is concerned. We still have a long way to go but thank god for movies that educated people about it.
