Featuring Mona Singh, Swastika Mukherjee, and Shamita Shetty in the lead roles, the story revolves around three wives who decide to end their abusive marriages. Mona Singh, Swastika Mukherjee and Shamita Shetty will essay the role of three frustrated wives who kill their respective husbands after facing their abuse. And to portray a grey character, the actors need to maintain a perfect balance between their on-screen and off-screen personas.
From the trailer, we can be assured that the ladies have nailed their roles in style! Talking about Mona, she has proved her versatility by playing key roles in different character-driven stories. But stepping into the shoes of Veera was quite a task for her. Yet she managed to portray the persona right with her utmost dedication to the project.

Talking about the same in an interview, Mona said, “I am extremely passionate about Black Widows, it has romance, fun, quirkiness and lots of thrill. ZEE5 has created this adaptation that puts three women in the centre stage, something that is rarely seen in an OTT space. Adding to this, the show has a thriller aspect to it when one of the husbands returns from the dead which will challenge the narrative.”
Being a women-centric show, Black Widows is a thriller with many twists and turns. Apart from Mona, Swastika, and Shamita, the show also features Sharad Kelkar, Raima Sen, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Aamir Ali, and Sabyasachi Chakraborty. Directed by Birsa Dasgupta, the series is the eighth international adaptation of a popular Finnish show of the same name.
Black Widows will be streaming on ZEE5 on December 18.
