Rohit Shetty has taken lead to bring one after the other entertainment blockbusters. Recently his film Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif got a theatrical release and the film has grabbed a huge success. As the theatres are reopened after a long pause due to the pandemic, the filmmaker is making sure that his films continue to make noise at the ticket windows. He has announced his upcoming film Singham 3 starring Ajay Devgn right after the release of Sooryavanshi. But we are talking about his yet another film starring Ranveer Singh.
Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Crikus. Apart from Ranveer Singh the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma in the lead. The film is in talks even before its release. There have been various reports since Ranveer started shooting the film that Cirkus is a modern take on Gulzar’s classic 1982 comedy, Angoor, with Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma being interchanged for Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma’s roles. Director Rohit Shetty talked about the same in an interview with a leading daily. He not only answered it but also revealed what his upcoming film Cirkus is actually based on.
While talking to a leading daily director Rohit Shetty said that they have made a cute comedy film with Ranveer called Cirkus. The director said that it is not similar to Angooor at all. He also said that Cirkus is not Angoor, it’s Comedy of Errors, which is a Shakespearean play, on which numerous films have been made. In black and white, Do Dooni Chaar was made, Angoor was made, even in Bengali, there’s an adaptation of Comedy of Errors. Some have also written books on it said, Rohit Shetty.
Adding further to it Rohit Shetty said that his film is from that play, but it’s a totally different take, a different universe. He also added that there’s a lot of time left for it to release, too, as they had to wait a long time for Sooryavanshi and now they’re promoting it. They don’t have any release date in mind for Angoor, and they will complete its last schedule in December, concluded Rohit Shetty.
