She made her Bollywood debut with Aakrosh as a dancer. She played several roles in films like Kalyug, Chatpati, Nasoor, and Humara Khandan until she got a major role in Aamir Khan’s Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. She rose to fame because of Maine Pyar Kiya where she portrayed the role of Kaushalya Choudhary. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award at the Filmfare awards. The film featured Salman Khan and Bhagyashree in the lead roles. Reema was seen playing his mother even though the age difference between them was just 7 years. The audience loved the bonding between the mother-son duo.

She was also seen in Aashiqui starring Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. She portrayed the role of Mrs Vikram Roy, Rahul’s mother. Reema was seen working with Salman Khan in films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Patthar Ke Phool, Nischay, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Saajan, Shaadi Karke Phass Gaye yaar, Deewana Mastana, Judwa, and Hum Saath Saath Hai. A few years ago, the two reunited at an event and had a long conversation since they had played roles of mother-son duo in several films.

In Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Reema was seen playing Madhuri Dixit’s mother and Salman Khan’s mother-in-law. She was critically appreciated for the role and even received a Filmfare nomination. She was also seen playing Shah Rukh Khan’s mother in Kal Ho Naa Ho. She was extremely supportive of him in the film and the audience loved her performance. She was also seen working with him in films like Yes Boss, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and many other. In Sanjay Dutt’s Vaastav, she played the iconic role of his mother. Sanjay was older than her even though he played her son in the film. In Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, she portrayed the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s mother.
