Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan To Have An OTT Release?

It’s been more than a year since, The Fakir Of Venice actor, Farhan Akhtar had announced his upcoming project Toofan. The actor had shared the first look of Toofan on his Instagram profile in September 2019 announcing the release date as 2nd October 2020. Although this couldn’t be possible due to the ongoing pandemic, the team has been gearing up for a release for a long time. Keeping the current situation in mind, it has been reported that Farhan and his team are considering an OTT release for the same.

Toofan is a film that reunites Farhan Akhtar with his Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. This film is pretty close to his heart and thus the actor often keeps sharing posts about the film. After the initial announcement, Farhan had also shared an exclusive photo from the sets of Toofan, in January 2020 on his Instagram, saying, “Iss saal Toofan uthega”.

Though the film couldn’t be released on the announced date due to lockdown restrictions, it has been ready for a while now and the makers are contemplating how and when to release the film. As the Maharashtra government has allowed full occupancy in cinema halls, a lot of filmmakers and production houses have announced new release dates for their films. Whereas Farhan’s team on the other hand is considering an OTT release for the project.

Farhan has worked really hard for this film and it’s evident from his transformation. The actor will be seen essaying the role of a boxer. Nothing major has been revealed by the team yet, but we’re all eagerly waiting for the release of this film.
