Masaan was surely one of the finest films of Indian parallel cinema and was also appreciated in global film festivals. Richa Chadha’s character of Devi struggled with the societal stereotype of premarital sex. And throughout the story, Richa’s performance grabbed everyone’s attention due to her innocence and realism in portraying a small-town girl. Her on-screen bond with Sanjai Mishra made up for many heartwarming moments in the film and Richa was widely appreciated for her performance.

Nagma Khatoon (Gangs Of Wasseypur)

The Anurag Kashyap directorial Gangs Of Wasseypur paved a way for many struggling actors in the film industry. And Richa Chadha was one of them who emerged as an astonishing character with her portrayal of Nagma Khatoon in GOW. Playing the character of a mother, Nagma’s character had various shades, and though with a little screen time, Chadha’s character turned out to be one of the most interesting personalities of the story.

Bholi (Fukrey)

A still from Fukrey

And the day couldn’t end without mentioning Bholi from Fukrey. Being the exact opposite of her name, Bholi’s character was cunning and one of the best ones from Fukrey. Though most of Richa’s contemporaries would not easily agree to play a negative character like Bholi, it was Richa who took up the challenge and proved that an artist has no limitations.

And there’s a lot more we love about Richa’s off-screen and on-screen persona, We wish her a great year ahead.
