The director of Huliraya, Aravind Kaushik, who has also written the story and screenplay of the film, has ensured to include life messages throughout. One such lesson is the importance of staying humble and living a life free of ulterior negative emotions like anger and jealousy. Suressa, the protagonist, is a man who has lived his whole life in the deep forests of Karnataka. Until he falls in love with Malli, nothing urges him to go to the big city of Bengaluru. But when he leaves his home, to make something out of himself, his life takes a complete U-turn!
