Jamai 2.0 is an intriguing revenge drama filled with tons of twists and turns. Its new season is the continuation of where things were left off in season 1. Ravi Dubey reprises his role of Siddharth and Nia Sharma plays the role of Roshni. These two are living together under the watchful eyes of DD who suspects that Sid is up to no good. In this season we see some new characters entering their chaotic lives as well. Also, Ranjit Patel, DD’s ex-husband resurfaces and Abeer (Vin Rana), an undercover cop tries to find out the truth behind Cheeram’s death and Ahaana (Priya Banerjee) also has a secret connection to the Patels. The show is also packed with some great and quite dramatic dialogues. Here are some of the best ones that we enjoyed thoroughly!
DD is suspicious of Sid right from the beginning of the season. She does not believe that everything he is doing is only for the sake of love. She does not believe that Sid is really in love with Roshni and is very cautious of it. We see her thoughts on love with this dialogue!
When Siddharth is looking for Ajit Patel, he has to be secretive and hide a lot from Roshni. She notices this distance and tries to find out more. That is when Siddharth tells her that he is looking for her brother and will end him when he catches hold of him.
We get a total angry young man vibe from Sid in this shot and it’s so good!
Roshni then says she won’t let him touch her brother and storms off. When she sits down next to Abeer to blow off some steam, she realises that this revenge of Siddharth’s could cause a break in their own relationship. She shares her thoughts with Abeer with this dialogue!
Sid too realises that every step he takes towards his goal is a step he will have to take away from Roshni and his eyes well up with tears. This war within him is articulated so well in this dialogue.
DD has played the role of a mother for Roshni and Ajit really well. She has kept her son away from the world’s eyes so that he does not go to jail and when her same plan starts crumbling, she gets tensed. She says, “Yeh kahaani mujhe phir se likni padegi.” One can sense the power and desperation in her voice!
When she realises that Sid’s goal is to uncover Ajit’s identity and his location, she tells Roshni that Sid has come home as a jamai only to find out about her son. This scene is so powerful, it changes everything. Now, DD is aware of the war that is brewing between her and Sid.
When DD is arrested and in police custody after a bag of her money is found near Cheeram, Roshni is livid with anger. She yells at Sid for even thinking that her mother could be a murderer. Things between her and DD might not be ideal, but Roshni trusts her mother to not do any crime of any sorts.
In the final episode, when Sid and DD confront each other, they stand with guns pointed at each other. Then they decide to sit and talk it out and that is when we see an important change in the relationship. DD takes a calmer tone and tells Siddharth she understands him. She also tries to make him understand her point of view. DD almost talks like a friend with Siddhart and we can tell that she has begun to feel sorry for him when she says this dialogue.
We thought these were some of the best dialogues. Which were your favourite?
