Javed Akhtar Defamation Case: Kangana Ranaut Files A Counter Complaint After Appearing Before The Court; Takes A Dig At Lyricist In Latest Insta Post

Kangana Ranaut is an outspoken personality in and out. On Monday, Kangana appeared before a Mumbai court concerning a criminal defamation complaint filed against her by lyricist Javed Akhtar. Earlier this week, Court said to Kangana that if she fails to attend the next date of the court hearing on 20 September, they will issue an arrest warrant against her. Ranaut appeared before the metropolitan magistrate’s court for the first time since summons were issued to her in February this year.

Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar came face to face at the Mumbai court, where Tanu Weds Manu actress arrived at the court. She was accompanied by her enhanced CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) security entourage when she entered the court premises. On the same day, Kangana Ranaut filed a counter-complaint against lyricist Javed Akhtar in a Mumbai court. She filed a complaint alleging extortion and invasion of privacy. She also accused Javed Akhtar of threatening her and said that she did not trust the judge at the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court in Andheri.

Soon after making an exit from the court, Kangana shared some stunning photos of hers on Instagram and posted a quote alongside. Calling herself alone warrior, Kangana took a dig at the veteran lyricist and said, “Remember those who can’t make you, they can’t break you either.” Check out her post below:

In today’s court hearing, Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, accused Javed Akhtar of making threatening phone calls, in which he allegedly said that you would commit suicide. Rizwan Siddique asked in court, “Now she has recorded this in her complaint… when Javed Akhtar says he had nothing to do with this matter (the subject of the alleged defamation), why did he call Kangana?

“Kangana’s health is still not completely fine… but still I told her that you come to the court so that it does not feel that we are not coming. Why is the judge repeatedly calling Kangana to the court? Threat to issue warrant was given twice…” he said talking about Kangana Ranaut’s health. Rizwan Siddique argued the Metropolitan Magistrate had mechanically ordered an inquiry against his client without assigning reasons. Javed Akhtar’s lawyer, Jay Bharadwaj, sought dismissal of the appeal, saying that the magistrate had applied his mind to direct an inquiry after examining Mr. Akhtar’s complaint.

After hearing from both sides, Justice Revati Mohite-Dere had said in the order that there was no procedural illegality or irregularity in the metropolitan magistrate’s order initiating the proceedings.

Talking more about the case, it all started last year in November when Kangana Ranaut defamed Javed Akhtar in a TV discussion on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, which damaged his reputation. While lodging a complaint, Javed Akhtar claimed that Kangana Ranaut dragged his name during an interview while referring to a coterie existing in Bollywood, following the alleged suicide committed by actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June last year.
