Sushil Kumar is probable one of the most famous winners of the show. He was the talk of the town for bagging Rs 5 crore. However, KBC 13 premiered on August 23 with Amitabh Bachchan back as the host. Sushil Kumar came from a very humble background and having financial difficulties compelled him to participate in Amitabh Bachchan’s show.
Having participated in the show, Sushil Kumar made headlines as he was the first-ever contestant of the quiz-based reality show to have won this much amount in 2011. Sushil Kumar hailed from Bihar and he had a dream of becoming the biggest local celebrity of Bihar. Coming to a reality show like KBC and winning the hefty price would make his aspirations come true. But, the real reason behind his failure was that he had failed to invest money in the proper place and the ex-contestant ended up going through a misfortune.
Sushil Kumar had been aired in the first episode of the KBC season and that episode was full of fun, where Big B had introduced the contestants of the show. In 2011, Big B had handed over the first Rs 5 crore cheque to Bihar’s Sushil Kumar after which, he gained fame. Sushil went on to feature in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa after he had bagged Rs 5 crore.
In his long and in-depth Facebook post, Sushil had penned down in Hindi how the ‘worst phase of his life began after he had won Rs 5 crore in KBC. Sushil mentioned he didn’t really know what to do to get out of his ordeal. Sushil said that in 2015-2016 he was getting duped, addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. He even ruined his relationship with his wife and termed that time as the ‘worst time of his life.
However, he also mentioned that all the positive events that occurred in the past few years — like being a successful teacher, an environmental issue worker, quitting smoking last year, and many more things that serve as a life lesson for many.
