Lara Dutta, who debuted on digital platform is gearing up for her third digital appearance with another digital show. In a recent interview, the 43-year-old performer discussed how the industry isn’t always fair to female actors her age.
Lara, who is going to play Rajkumari Devyani in the Kaun Banegi Shikharwati show, has spoken about working in her forties. To be honest, she believes that aging has liberated her as an actress. It has finally freed her from people’s expectations of her filling attractive positions since she is the former Miss Universe. She also believes that being in her 40s is the finest moment for her as an actor. People are now looking at her qualities and talent. She has been performing characters with a lot of depth. She would, however, concede that the profession is not nice to anyone and does not enable women to mature gracefully.
She went on to discuss how people react to elderly female performers who are still working. She stated that the film business has credible stars like as Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji, and even Lara Dutta herself, but when they appear on screen, people make comments like she has begun appearing old or she is overweight now, and at the end of the day, one can’t control it. They, like everyone else, are becoming older. She believes that even the audience does not allow performers to age gracefully, but Lara believes that artists who have come before them are reinventing roles for them. Look at Neena Gupta and Ratna Pathak Shah; they are role models for everyone. They are doing fantastic work.
