Lata Mangeshkar, the legendary singer, is battling COVID-19 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. With mild symptoms, the 92-year-old singer tested positive for coronavirus. According to an official statement from the doctor who is treating her, she will be monitored for the next 8-10 days to ensure a complete recovery. The veteran singer is being treated by Dr. Pratit Samdhani “Mangeshkar is still being monitored and her treatment is continuing. It is far too early to make any statements at this time. For the next 8-10 days, she will be kept under observation.

Last week, the 92-year-old singer was admitted to the ICU of South Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after experiencing mild coronavirus symptoms. According to Lata Mangeshkar’s doctor, Pratat Samdani, the singer will be in the hospital for some time. In the ICU, “she is still under observation, We’ll have to hold our breath. She is still being monitored in the intensive care unit. We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Please keep her in your prayers as she recovers.” She will remain in the hospital for the time being “PTI quoted Samdani as saying.

Rachana Shah, Mangeshkar’s niece, said on Thursday that the singer is doing well.

Lata Mangeshkar, also known as the Nightingale of India, has received numerous awards and honors, including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, as well as multiple National Film Awards. She has also been awarded India’s highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna.

On the work front, Mangeshkar, who began her career at the age of 13 in 1942 and has over 30,000 songs to her credit in several Indian languages, is regarded as one of Indian cinema’s greatest singers. In her over a seven-decade career, she has sung various memorable tracks such as Ajeeb dastan hai ye, Pyar kiya to darna kya, Neela asman so gaya, and Tere liye, among others.
