Nayanthara finally set for her big Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood is finally beckoning for the Anaamika girl.

After seemingly much flip-flop, Nayanthara aka the Lady Superstar could well be on the way to being one of the lead ladies opposite Shah Rukh Khan, the ‘King Khan’ of Bollywood.

After initial reports that the winner of one Nandi, two Asianet and as many Film fare South awardee had taken a step back from making her debut in Bollywood, the grapevine is now abuzz that the much-touted maiden appearance will happen for Nayanthara after all. This film will also mark the directorial debut for Arun Kumar, mononymously known as Atlee, known for his Kollywood flicks such as Mersal, Raja Rani, Theri and Bigil.

While Nayanthara had signed the flick with Shah Rukh Khan around two months earlier, domestic troubles in King Khan’s life with his son Aryan Khan saw the Bollywood superstar put the project on the backburner. With courts extending legal relief to Aryan Khan in the alleged drug bust case, news doing rounds is that Shah Rukh Khan is set to resume shooting for the Atlee directorial.

Nayanthara was caught in a bind about continuing in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer for she had committed to appearing opposite Chiranjeevi in Godfather. Now with things settling on the domestic front for Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara will make her B-Town appearance where she is penciled in to play the role of an investigative officer. Needless to state, the script also ensures that cupid strikes her and she falls for Shah Rukh Khan.

Grapevine also had it that Samantha Ruth Prabhu had offered to fill in for the slot that Nayanthara would have left had she backed out. With Nayanthara now firmly in the lead saddle, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is scouting for a project that will launch her in Bollywood as well.

The script will see Shah Rukh Khan play a double role in this Atlee directorial, which those in the know of things says is a desi version very similar to the international web series ‘Money Heist’
